Diving’s Prohibited
After fueling up at Tree Cache with some food, it was time to head a couple of kilometres south to our next planned find – Diving’s Prohibited. On the map it looked like a pleasant waterfront location, with a string of nearby parks connected by walking tracks along the waters edge, so TeamWolfie headed off – enthusiastic to continue our run of cache finds for the day.
We located a park with a shady parking area, and whipped out the trusty iPhone – making use of the newly purchased Geocaching software for the iPhone recently released by Groundspeak. It’s a great tool which I’ll dedicate another blog post to, but to our surprise there wasn’t just one, but two caches within our immediate area.
Sticking with the original plan, we sought out Diving’s Prohibited first – a microcache, somewhere near the water on the walking track.
As our GPS devices guided us closer to ground zero we discovered the path traverses a wooden bridge over a creek, with rocky abutments on either side – sure enough, this was our Ground Zero.
So many places – and the challenge of a micro cache, not to mention a never ending parade of muggles out enjoying the weekend sunshine in this pristine location on such a beautiful Saturday morning.
It proved to be a little bit of a challenge, but not to be deterred – the cache was found.
I’d love to come back here again soon, just to relax in the sunshine and read a book – and ponder the thought of one day hiding our own geocache in such a great place.
