Mooney Valley Micro
After stumbling across this bizarre new activity called Geocaching, we collated a few interesting locations in our local area that I thought would make for an interesting Saturday afternoon drive – possibly with a cache find or two.
Little did we realise it would soon become an addictive hobby!
Our very first attempt to seek out a cache was the Mooney Valley Micro – hidden somewhere deep in the valley under the southern end of the vast Mooney Creek F3 bridge. I’d been there exploring once before, so the trip there was not an unfamiliar one.
We stumbled around for at least 30 minutes and came up with nothing. It seemed all too hard. A GZ that kept moving, a target of unknown size and colour – we obviously needed to do more homework. We ended up tired, boggy, wet, and frustrated. But not to give up – it was a fun trip, afterall – and that’s the number one aim of this hobby: fun.
