Ancient Artefacts deluded us… again

It worries me when we have trouble finding a geocache of difficulty rating 1.5 – especially after two attempts and spending so much time carefully examining the description, clues, and previous logs.

This was the case with GeoMonkeys cache Ancient Artefacts (GCKQ76).

We last attempted this cache on October 19 – or roughly eight weeks ago. It’s becoming important to us that we find it – because we believe this cache contains the 4th and final clue we need before we can find a multi-cache called Catch the Cuckoo.  That involves finding four “Cuckoo Eggs” located in caches around this area, each revealing a small part of the co-ordinates needed to reveal the resting place for the Cuckoo.

TeamWolfie had been hoping to make Catch the Cuckoo our 50th milestone cache – but for this to happen we really need to unlock the secrets of the Ancient Artefacts.

The only positive thing about today was we found a better place to park when accessing this cache that gives us a relatively short, flat walk. So I guess that makes things easier when we go back in the next few days for a third attempt.
